Australian Wooden Boat Festival 2025
The Australian National Maritime Museum is a proud supporter of the 2025 Australian Wooden Boat Festival, to be held 7-10th February in Hobart, Tasmania.
The largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the Festival ordinarily attracts 50,000+ visitors and 200+ wooden craft each year. This year the HMB Endeavour replica will be in port, along with James Craig from the Sydney Heritage Fleet.
There will be a wide range of activities to enjoy including vessel showcases, live music, hands-on workshops, boat-building demonstrations, and more. An important theme of this year’s festival is the Pacific, with artists, navigators, seafarers, and featured vessels from across the region invited to be part of the festivities.
Of particular note is the Australian National Maritime Museum Wooden Boat Symposium, where more than 20 speakers will share their expert insights into Pacific seafaring, traditional watercraft, maritime history, and environmental issues.
